i passed the FE exam, so i’m an “engineer in training” going for professional licensure. i graduate from LSU on friday with honors, so i’ll have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Cum Laude.
I just added a few letters to my title.
I’m now David Comeaux, EIT, B.S. in E.E.

i just walked a mile to school.
Uphill.
Both ways.
In the snow.
Yes, there was a blizzard this morning in Baton Rouge. I called it a blizzard because there was both wind and snow AT THE SAME TIME. I wiped 2 inches of snow off my car windows this morning. This snow is very wet, especially since it rained most of the day yesterday and last night. Wet and slushy and cold. Desiree called me from her work at 6 AM, as I was waking up, to tell me that it started snowing at 3:45 this morning and she made snow angels and took pictures. All I could think was how cold and wet her clothes are now. She replied excitedly, “Yeah! My hair is still damp.” Noob.
I’ve seen snow, unlike Des, and it’s only fun when you are equipped, a la Northfaceâ„¢ and Jon’s recent post on the subject. I no longer have any snow gear (nor did i ever think it necessary to buy any in south La.), and slushy tennis shoes in 25 degrees are a miserable fate. I can’t help but notice how many girls are wearing their once trendy, now utilitarian galoshes and feel slightly sheepish about my former dislike of the rubber shoes (i never figured they would be useful).
This was the look on my face when i saw it was snowing. Slightly amused, but mostly wanting to stay in bed instead of trudge around in the slush.
Oliver and Speckle, the dogs, had no idea what it was when they went to walk this morning. At first they were very unsure, and stepped gingerly through it. But several steps later, Oliver was skipping around and making circles. If you would have been there, you would have laughed too. And then you might have cursed your wet feet.
In other news, I am 2/3 of the way through finals. One more on saturday and that will be the end of the end. I’m dreaming of a white… graduation? no. please no snow on graduation. Thx.
For those of you who are enjoying the uncharacteristic blanket of white, here is an applicable music link (from my Christmas album, sold out of bedroom closets everywhere.):
