what a fiasco. finals were almost a complete disaster. Luckily, i have luck. They were only a partial disaster.

strange feeling

Saturday, December 10th, 2005

everybody else around me is so nerve-wracked. Yes, finals are here, but for some wonderful reason that i do not exactly know, i feel great. This is bizarre, because i am usually the one to be putting all kinds of pressure on myself and being a bit of a perfectionist about studying. This semester i feel like finals are just something i have to do, like going to an appointment. I only have 3 appointments, and though they are cumulative and cover all of the material in the course, i have no fear about doing poorly. And you, the reader, should not be mistaken, this lack of fear is COMPLETELY UNFOUNDED. I have no reason not to worry, i really do need to make A’s or else this will turn into another semester where i lower my GPA.

What is this happiness during stressful times? will it help me out in the end, or will it hurt me?

in the mean time, i’ve been consolidating my music collection on my computer. I have sworn to acquire the next iPod that comes out of Apple (a while after christmas, most likely), and it’s going to be amazing, and i’m going to be ready for it.

an optimistic evening

good news, everybody.
its cold outside. i have less work to complete each day for classes, as this is the week before finals. i sat outside in the quad one day and sketched the trunk of a tree, and was very pleased with this spontaneous creative work, on engineering paper no less. i fell asleep on the parade grounds yesterday. i lazily perused a book store, and discovered a new author that i want to read. i thoroughly enjoy curry’s w&l snow pictures. i saw “Walk the Line” and i loved it; not as good as “Ray” but still interesting. i have such a good grade in my Power class that i am exempt from the final exam… imagine that. sometimes, studying during inconvenient times pays off.

my next conquests shall be: drinking excessive amounts of hot chocolate and apple cider, going to super sweet christmas parties, eating good food from home, meeting up with Jon and jamming, getting paid a christmas bonus for the good tutoring i’m doing (my kids are doing well), and finishing my semester with (hopefully) all A’s. It’s possible!
