hark, a knock at the door. The young man there says to me, “Dude, you needa come getchur gee-tar.”
How puzzling. I look to my right, and i see my Gee-tar. I look in my closet, and i see my other Gee-tar. All my gee-tars are accounted for.
“Whatever do you mean?”
“Ah’ve ben tryin to get in touch with you fer a while naow. Come own, she’s upstirs. You won that gee-tar. Remember, from the Habitat fer Humanity Raffle?”
“Whoa!”
That’s right, ladies and gentlefolk, as of last night, i am the proud owner of a brand new good-lookin acoustic-electric Gee-tar worth $330! About a month or two ago, there was this fund-raiser here at my school, and i thought “why not” so i bought a single $1 ticket for the guitar.
On the sign-up sheet, i put down desiree’s dorm number because she has an answering machine; if i did actually win there’d be some way they could contact me. Bad idea. They tried calling that number several times, and her roomate picked up each time, responding “No, there’s no one named David over here”, or “Nope, David doesn’t live here”. Lo and Behold, The guy that was trying to get in touch with me lived upstairs from me, so he finally knocked on my door last night. Voila.
How cool is that. guitars, $1 a piece. It’s even worth something. its my first acoustic with onboard electronics, i.e. i can plug it in to my amplifier. I am rich in guitars. A little too rich. I was thinking, maybe i could sell it and buy a mixer!! The guitar is worh 330, the mixer goes for 230. profit! eBay calls me… but i dunno. maybe i should keep it?
Guitar specs for jon: Looks like an Ovation. cherry sunburst flavor. pickups are great, even plugs into my marshall and sounds good. acoustic tone is wonderful, very bright, but the projection and bass response are weak because of the smaller sound chamber (and composite back (yuck)). action is a bit too high. but hey. it cost me a dollar.
Here’s some other information: I just finished the LAST SCHOOL WEEK of my first semester here in College. i am going to be busy during finals, too. I messed up pretty badly on my Chemistry exam on tuesday, so i might have to take the final, which means i’ll have to stay in Macon an extra day or two. However, i believe my Calculus exam went well enough. Projected grades: A, A, A, B, B. Projected GPA: 3.6?
And now for the sad part of the entry. as of december 4th 2003, Brooke Cranfield has finished with her Livejournal. she will no longer be posting. o wretched twist of fate! at least email is still safe.

Hey, keep the guitar… save up for the mixer.
hey thats oober cool
Is Mercer adding on to your room to store all your guitars or do you have to sleep with one? College dorms are not roomy. At least not when I came over on the Mayflower. Love you Grandmere
